Eh, not really IMO. I don't think just because an album has essential in the title people will be climbing over others to buy it. At least if it has greatest hits in the title they know what is being offered up front.

I agree that Essential Collection can be a turnoff.  It does sound like a title you see in the 4.99 bin.

But I'm not expecting anything big hit-wise from this.

and normally, any "essential" albums flop. michael jackson, barbra streisand, gloria estefan to name a few released an "essential" album a while back, and it underperformed big time.

however, celine has previously unreleased song for this collection, and not to mention she's on tour now so it's still possible for the album to sell well. + it's the holiday season!

can't wait!

It will be more better to have some songs that we she dont usually have on her compilation albums.

Songs like MHWGO and alikes ... she always have this on her previous album. Why Sony can just come up with an album with unreleased tracks like Would I know, I have to dream, theres alot of songs that they can put on it... but please not the same songs like what they have on her pervious albums.

I would say the reason these albums "flopped" was because these artists had already released greatest hit type albums in the past.  Most of the general public would look at the release and think, "Um...I already have a Greatest Hits album by them.  I think I'll pass and buy something else."  So, because Celine already has a greatest hits type album I am willing to bet this album won't do as well as it could.

A music videos DVD would be fantastic! The All The Way DVD was good but to have all her english music videos like that would be wonderful!

On ne change pas came as a DVD release so maybe ML-EC will too!

this wouldn't be so bad, but INSA and WIK would never be released officially, cos they are both still demos. you forgot Love You Blind from the CD recording sessions and it's actually not true about CJA, SMAL, ABOF, MTMH and TRIGO. cos they were released on singles and or albums  

I would love love love a dvd though with all her english video clips!!!     Darren, tell that to ur sony contacts!! it's wayyyyyyyy overdue!!!

I'm actually quite happy with this new release, which is to include the songs that didn't make it on TCh, but were supposed to be released on a TCh re-release. So, I'm happy with no TCh re-release, but getting the same stuff on a new CD, which will have new singles and stuff. And, besides, it could end up havin a 3 CD 1 DVD version like ONCP and, hopefully a Japanese release with two new/unreleased bonus songs, which would be the best!

Why a Japanese release with bonus tracks? Just because they did that with TC dosen't mean they'll do it for MLGH!
