June? Doesn't she want more months off before starting another Vegas set?

June wouldn't be too far out of the question -- especially if the show ends up being very similar to the Taking Chances World Tour.  I can imagine they'd use the same balcony imagery for IACBTMN/BYLM Medley.  Heck, they may even bring back the doves for TLYM.  Is that what I'd want?  No, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Let's pray to God that it's different, innovative, fresh, and new. Let's update the songs!!!  Let's have a different French song (I'm sure she's as sick of "Pour que tu m'aimes encore"  as she is "MHWGO")
"People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."
- Céline Dion, 1990

So does that mean that the whole plans of having a baby didn't work?
June seems too quick, and if there is no baby i see no reason for vegas apart from completely killing her career :(
why not record an english and a french album and promote them properly?

For example...  That would be the "normal" path to follow. But going back to the vegas jail without any reason to do it... only God knows why she would prefer that

The article that was referred to in an earlier post on Vegasdeluxe  states that she is not pregnant yet but is trying really hard....  I had to check it out because I was wondering to if the pregnancy thing had fallen out of the agenda or something...but it appears it hasnt  :)

Most of the songs on that list was performed at least once.

Je lui dirai
Immensite
Je ne vous oublie pas
J'ai la musique en moi

few only 1 time
Tout l'or des hommes (1 time)
On ne change pas (1 time)

few times...
I got the music in me (only a few times)
Think twice (only a few times)
Can't fight the feelin' (only a few times)
That's just the woman in me (only a few times)

and songs Céline didn't sing!  -_-
Sex machine (not one of her own)
Soul man (not one of her own)
Respect (not one of her own)
Lady marmalade (not one of her own)
Sir Duke (not one of her own)
I got the feeling (well it was only a reaaaaaally small part)

L'amour existe encore isn't also on the list...

Yeah June 2010 gives her a little over a year to prepare for baby and a new show.

I imagine it won't be too hard to come up new ideas cause there pretty good at knowing what works and what doesn't.

Things are always better (and easier) the second time around.

Plus she'll be able to settle in Vegas for a while and she likes stability.

I can't wait I didn't get to see her in vegas, but i'm for sure going now.

If they officially announce that it is june. That pretty much means no baby  Because think about it, she's not pregnant yet so nine months from now is Januaryish, she is not going to want to go back to doing shows when the baby is only 4/5 months old....and she would have to rehearse before that. So she'd be going back to work around when the baby is 3 months old. If this news is legit we can pretty much assume the baby process did not work which makes me so sad, because even though Celine said she'd be okay with it because RC was a miracle himself...I think she'd be devestated not to have a second child.

I'm just assuming though. Who knows..knowing how much Celine and Rene work, I also wouldn't be surprised if she went back on stage the day the baby was born lol.

I dont know why some people dont want her back in Vegas, She'll never have that HIT song (R&B) some of us dream of and i dont think she'l ever promote a new great album again, french or english...i mean look at TC for example, that was brilliant ,but was not promoted the way we would of liked except 4 the tour , but most non - Celine fans, unlike us ,will never know some of the great songs celine has ....but we could argue bout this all day, I say we should just accept it and be thankful she will be performing anywhere, I mean she need not bother, Vegas is bloody ages away from Ireland , but sure ill go anyway....:)

What do you guys think the ticket prices will be like?  The economy isn't like it was before and even Cher and Bette are having to cut their ticket prices.  Some even getting free upgrades to rear orchestra if you buy a first mez seat.  If Celine's tickets go for the $300/each price tag I will seriously being annoyed.  LOL

you posted a list from the tourbook which is another question...
also China  olympic song was prepared

It's not from the tour book. I think the tour book does not include ''My Love'' and ''The prayer'', which I think is kind of strange... I found that list somewhere last year just after I saw the first shows here in SA and I copied it because I thought it would be interesting to see if all of those songs would be performed at some point...

By the way, are you talking about ''The power of the dream''?

I don't think its always about promotion why she doesn't sell as great anymore or have many hits songs since ANDHC. I think its that people have bloody awful taste in music and songs that are big now are mostly crap by people who can't really sing...as long as it has a good beat right? This is just my opinion, but take Miley Cyrus for example...SHE IS HUUUUUUGE right now, and she can sing ok...but not amazing. Yet, she's a big star. I just don't get it. It baffles me when she has these songs playing over and over again on the radio, and Celine's "My Love"...I've heard maybe once. When people hear that I like Celine Dion they laugh and say that's random, and I'm like alfdjldkjflkjda;akldj WHAT? random!?!?!  I just don't get how people DONT like Celine Dion lol.  I'm getting off topic here though lol...what I meant to say in all that, is I just think times have changed. Sony can do a ton of promotion and will still get the same results with Celine albums. Becuase for some odd reason its not "cool" to like Celine. She'll keep her old fan base, who we all know is very loyal, and she'll gain some more through the rest of her career, but I don't think we can expect another MHWGO fame with her. The thing about Celine is that she's got staying power in her career. There will never be a point when she's still singing that people won't care or remember her. Miley Cyrus, or Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry (who I listen to all of them btw I'm not hating just being realistic) where will they be in 5-10 years? That's why she's flipping awesome and even if she does go to Vegas for another 50 years she'll still be well known for her voice. So Vegas isn't going to ruin her career, it's going to keep it the same way it's been for the past few years. I dont think she cares about gaining more fans, I think it's about being loyal to the millions of fans she already has. She can go sing on the moon and I'd still be a fan. Ummm...so what the hell was I getting at?lol Vegas is gonna happen nmw so lets get over it because we all know we are going to fly/drive/walk our little butts over there to see her and let's just be thankful she's coming back at all. I don't want to spit out the "R" word...starts with re...ends in tirement, but I was pretty sure that was her next step after the tour, so I'll take vegas any day over that!

What's sad (or scary depending how you look at it) is the $300 price I quoted wasn't a scalper site.  Towards the end of Céline's run with A New Day... Ticketmaster/Caesars Palace started charging about $300/ticket for front orchestra seating.  (I think the number was something like $317/ticket.)  I can't tell you how utterly annoyed I was considering they were charging MORE for a show that had LESS songs when it began.  Such is the entertainment industry I suppose.  It'll be interesting how they (whoever "they" are) prices Céline next year.

Exclusive: Celine Dion sets June 2010 date for Caesars Palace return
http://www.vegasdelu...-date-caesars-/

Posted May 11, 2009 • 7:00 a.m.

Celine Dion in concert in Tampa, Fla., on Jan. 28, 2009.

Photo: Tom Donoghue/www.donoghuephotography.com

Superstar singer Celine Dion and her manager husband Rene Angelil have tentatively set a June 2010 date for her return to Caesars Palace! I have been reliably told by one of the couple’s closest confidantes that she will resume shows at The Colosseum next summer -- 13 months from now.

“It won’t be anything like the nightly schedule she had when she was resident there for five years previously,” he said. “It will be a flight series of concerts similar to the number that Bette Midler and Cher perform there now every year.

“First priority, though, at the moment is her attempt to have a new baby. She is not pregnant yet, but she is trying really hard. Setting her return date 13 months out works perfectly with her plans for a new pregnancy. If it’s not meant to be, it still works, and she’ll have enjoyed a full-year hiatus.”

I also was told that my story of the June 2010 return -- even though everything has been tentatively agreed to by Caesars Palace, AEG Live/Concerts West and Celine -- will be denied for now but will be proven true once any pregnancy is confirmed. Since my inside source has never been wrong in the past, I feel confident that he’s on target yet again!

Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past decade giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.

Update from Los Angeles Times: Update: John Meglen president of AEG Live and Concerts West who promotes Dion's concerts as well as the venue at Caesars writes in reply to my query with charming cheekiness: "....yes I can confirm that Robin is reporting it!........sorry.....no comment other than the normal...We Love Celine!"

I still find this hard to believe- if she got pregnant today, she'd only give birth in February 2010- i.e 3-4 months before starting a new show??? So much for staying at home with baby

LOL

...Joe...

well this is probably one of those scalper sites, so don't give it too much value... but if the prices are 300 bucks, then I aint even gonna bother going to vegas -_-

It'll be interesting how they (whoever "they" are) prices Céline next year.

...Joe...

hmmm yeah but I though that the higher prices towards the end of AND, was because of the 'high demand'... (btw yeah i was also pissed!! i wanted to go again, but seeing those prices, i passed, especially cos the show was so much shorten then when it began) surely it won't be like that for the new show! especially in this financial crisis... she'll never fill up the place!

yeah I don't believe it either... Céline wouldn't ... couldn't  go on stage only 3-4 months after her pregnancy! :ermm:

I dont know why some people dont want her back in Vegas, She'll never have that HIT song (R&B) some of us dream of and i dont think she'l ever promote a new great album again, french or english...i mean look at TC for example, that was brilliant ,but was not promoted the way we would of liked except 4 the tour , but most non - Celine fans, unlike us ,will never know some of the great songs celine has ....but we could argue bout this all day, I say we should just accept it and be thankful she will be performing anywhere, I mean she need not bother, Vegas is bloody ages away from Ireland , but sure ill go anyway.... :)

I agree 100% with you... But I guess that's just our opinions. An opinion is like a butt, everyone has one... But I can promise all of you guys that Celine doesn't give a dam about mine or anyone else's for that matter...

About the baby thing: I don't want to sound negative or anything, but we have to be realistic. That process only has a 25% chance of working...

Celine Dion to return to Vegas?
12:29 PM PT, May 11 2009

The rumors began before she left. Celine Dion has proven to be the best draw to Vegas since Sinatra.  And so, of course, most everyone assumed it was not if but when she would return to Caesars. Now, Robin Leach is reporting that Dion will resume a show at Caesars in June 2010.

There is a photo I saw from the time when Frank Sinatra played Caesars. It was of the marquee in front of the resort which read simply: "He's Here." Dion may never create a body of music as inexhaustible as  Frank Sinatra, but she has proven to be as valuable to Caesars. Until the day he left, performing "The Red Piano", Elton John always referred to the room as Celine's palace, and I have no doubt if the marquee read "She's Back," all would know at once who was meant as the queen of the Colosseum.

I am looking into this story by writing the resort and the promoter of her previous show, "A New Day," and will report back to you.

Update: John Meglen president of AEG Live and Concerts West who promotes Dion's concerts as well as the venue at Caesars writes in reply to my query with charming cheekiness: "....yes I can confirm that Robin is reporting it!........sorry.....no comment other than the normal...We Love Celine!"

Lol I like that saying "an opinion is like a butt..." haha

Well, looks like I better start saving if I wanna be there opening night :cha-ching: As for the ticket prices, I don't think we can count them being cheaper because of the economy. Apparently the economy is getting better (hah yeah tell that to me and a million other people that still don't have jobs). Even when the economy was at it's lowest point it the fall, Celine's tickets still were friggen high. As long as people continue to pay that price, they'll probably keep it up there. Actually, it might be a little lower than AND because maybe they won't have as many special effects and s*** as they did last time. Who's gonna be there with me opening night?? Lol

As the old phrase and question goes, "What's in a name?"  A name can convey a message in just a few short words.  A name can spark emotion faster than anything.  Key examples are the emotions one feels when they hear or read the names Disney, Elvis, Hitler, Fidel Castro, Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr.  However, names of people are not the only way to spark emotion and intrigue.  There are names of places, books, movies, songs, and the like that can just as easily bring a flood of emotions to one's soul.  Casablanca, Sound Of Music, The Terminator, Lord Of The Flies, Moby Dick, "Unchained Melody," "Imagine," and "What A Wonderful World" are classic examples.

With that said what name would you give Céline's "possible" new show starting tentatively next year (2010)?  My personal choice is...

Céline Dion: Immortality

The name says it all.  Céline is still here after so many acts in the past have faded from memory.  She continues to attract crowds from around the world like no other.  Her grace, beauty, and talent will live on forever.  Céline is without a doubt full of musical immortality.

Your thoughts?

...Joe...

I was there for the opening show in 2003 and it was amazing. I saw her 4 more times in Las Vegas but I have to say that the opening show was the most special one.
Oh and we all got gift bags with lots of stuff in it, that was cool as well.
So I´m 100% sure that I´m going to the opening show if she comes back. Even though my country is broke and our currency is worth nothing- I´ll find a way to go  B)
