I honestly think things like this really suck. The idea of being able to attend a soundcheck is AMAZING. But the prices they are asking for this, are outrageous. No "normal" fan will be able to pay this amount of money. Its the same as the front row tickets you can bid on, for Vegas. Only people with a lot of money can afford to do this. I dont think this is the right way. I do understand these things have to be exclusive. But this is abnormal. The people that will end up buying them, will be rich people who think its a nice story to tell on a birthday: "I was at the soundcheck of Céline Dion". Not the true fans. There must be another way for this. For instance having a contest and let people win tickets for the soundcheck. But it seems like all they want is more money and after that even more.

I agree 10000% with you, Laura!!

Why TeamCeline does not offer soundcheck invitations as prices for some contsets or so?? Than it would be sure that this exclusive oportunity is given to real fans and not just to some boring rich high rollers who only need to add this to their CVs VIPs... :(

I am not sure whether you meant that sarcastically (that it's outrageously priced) or whether you were happily surprised (that it's a good deal)!  :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

that price is outrageous I agree no one is going to pay that its not worth what you get as much as I love Celine I wouldn't pay that if I had the money to,also I don't think its fair that ticketmaster adds an additonal 40 bucks to the ticket price,I'm not a member but I wouldn't pay an extra 40 I can barely afford the 45 dollar ones which end up being 60 plus after all the fees.

When I was buying my tickets for Birmingham, I noticed the Hot Sound package was 300 something - still high, but not nearly AS hight.

That could not have been the hot sound package. I was looking at it and it was $900 or a little more. We ended up just getting front row thru the Auction for Birmingham. But we did buy a hot sound package for Montreal.

Hey!

I think this talk of "true fan" stuff is absurd. No one is a true fan, we are all fans. Just cause someone buys something more or less expensive, or they have a larger collection doesn't make them any more or less devoted.

Flashing the cash certainly doesn't buy fandom. Everyone that has bought a single song of Celine's is a fan.

I love Celine, in fact she is pretty much the only artist I'll buy, some say I'm insane! I don't care ;o)

I got my Hot Sound Package for Manchester on 2nd May. Celine is the biggest selling female artist in the world, she has the right to charge what she wishes. She is the only one who'll pay when the shows don't sell out, however they did.

It should be stated also that she only charges the going rate for an artist of her calibre. Whilst I acknowledge these things aren't cheap, how many other artists would offer such an opportunity.

Finally, I do agree that I think TeamCeline could do more, being her official fan club and all.

(PS anyone been to a Hot Sound Package in South Africa? I would be interested to know about your experience)

Just to add my 2 cents... The hot sound packages were NOT available for the Tulsa, OK show but if they were, I would have bought 1.  I mean, its kinda a once in a lifetime opportunity and any chance I get to getting closer to Celine, the better!

I'm assuming that they werent available b/c the venue is still under construction and they weren't sure how things would come together... Knowing the cities government, they will have a VIP section with the mayor, city councilors, etc... bastards!

They aren't selling Hot Sound Packages for South Africa. We did however, the whole crowd I mean, get to witness the soundcheck when Celine performed at the wine estate over the weekend. The grass field she was performing on was open-fenced so we could see everything on the stage. We all cheered Celine on as she started to sing and she did quite a few songs. It was great!

I don't mean to sound cynical but we're talking about the entertainment industry.  It is no way about, nor do the people in it care about, making fans happy or giving them things.  It's about making as much money as humanly possible.  If they can get rich people to spend almost $1000 to hear Celine do a sound check, they are going to charge it, rake up that money and buy mansions, clothes, and vacations.  You'd do it to if you were in their position.   :D

teamceline should atleast run one competion per venue that offers the soundcheck package to teamceline members, as they obviously are not having competions for tc members to win a meet and greet with celine during the concerts.
Its only fair.... because many fans could not afford to travel to vegas to see celine, & many cannot afford these crazy prices either for this soundcheck package that all fans would love (its a dream for any celine fan lets face it!)....so i think tc should give its members this opportunity!!!

I would give anything to see Celine during her sound check.

I thought about selling my body, but that wouldn't even get me a category one ticket!  :giggle:

Sadly, the music industry is a business like any other and, at the end of the day, it all comes down to money. And unless they recover from the problems caused by illegal downloading etc they will continue to find other ways to get money from the publuc.

I try not to think about it too much, because it's quite depressing and takes away from the fantasy somehow.

It's bad enough when ticket touts buy the best seats and then sell them for huge prices to people who have money, but it's even worse when official ticket sellers introduce auctions on their sites to encourage people to compete for the best seats. Whatever happened to first come first served? It's nothing more than legalised robbery and that's saying nothing about the ridiculous handling fees they apply to each ticket! (I doubt Celine stands to earn anything from this aspect of ticket sales).

When I saw that ticketmaster did the same thing for the last shows in Vegas I was disgusted. I had tickets to see the show in October but unfortunately it was cancelled. I really wanted to buy tickets for the December shows but they were all apparently sold out. Of course, it wasn't completely sold out because ticketmaster had reserved the best seats in order to make money from the rich or the stupid  :nopity: .

And one final gripe before I go  :P When I bought my tickets for Paris last May I did not know about the Hot Seat Package. These were only announced later. I wanted the best seats possible and I had to buy two tickets cos none of my friends would spend that much. Maybe if I had known about the special package I would have used my money for that instead. But no, they drip feed us things so we buy one thing, then another and then another. From different ticket packages to re-releases of old albums, to ten different versions of the same album... I could go on but I fear I've already lost most of you...

I got tickets to the soundcheck for Nashville (omg amazing, thanks to my dear mother, whom I love).  It definitely is a once in a lifetime experience. She was so wonderful! The only thing that reallllllllllly kinda sucked about it was that the tickets were $1000 and everyone from the soundcheck sits together at the show, and we had ......7th and 8th row seats ......

I know a girl who paid like $300 and had 2nd row seats... We were all pretty confused as to why there wasn't a section marked off in maybe the first 2 rows for the soundcheck purchasers.... It really didn't make sense. I mean yes, we went to the soundcheck (wonderful) and we got to meet Celine (wonderful) and we got food before the show ( ) it was yummy but, the show is kinda the main thing. I don't know...it was just a little disheartening. But wes till had fun. But more fun would have been had clpser!

Did anyone else who went to a soundcheck and had hot sound tix have this probelm? I'm curious to see where other hot sound package ppl ended up seated for the concert.

Linds  :P

Cause the first two rows are not considered as the best seats to watch the concert. Your vision will be blocked when Celine is not on your side, you can only see her on the monitor before you.

Yeah but when she's there, she's there! We had front row in St. Louis and it was AMAZING. We were just all wondering why we weren't closer to the stage. Or out by a catwalk. Or...something haha. I mean we had a blast at Nashville anyway but I think a lot were disappointed, or maybe semi-disappointed

I tried to buy those tickets on the first day, (exactly on 10:00am) when they went for sale on Ticketmaster for Aug. 12 and 13, 2008, but all I got
was "SOLD OUT"!!! My only option was on the black market where the auctions started around $2000.00 per ticket!!!
I bought regular tickets for both shows, but noticed that there was A LOT of EMPTY seats close to the platforms. I think Team Celine could do a much better job
helping fans to get better seats!
