it's quite decent for just a few appearences promoting a flop single.
let's hope that Eyes On Me is the next single and the performance on An audience with gives it a good start.

So Celine debuts at number 5 in the UK, during the biggest release week the UK has seen in a long time! Out this week were Leona Lewis, The Spice Girls, Led Zeppelin, The Killers and Andrea Boccelli and add to that the previous weeks number one, Westlife.
That there is a world class line up of artists, the competion for Celine this week in the UK was immense. Personally I think charting at number 5, without a hit single, is an incredible achievement. Imagine if "Taking Chances" was a hit and got the physical single release it deserved?!
I must admit I'm quite surprised she missed out on #4, the midweek sales figures I'd seen all week had her miles ahead of Led Zeppelin, but there must've been a rush on Saturday for that album, she couldn't have finished far behind.
Anyway, the challenge for Sony UK is to now consolidate and ensure a steady sales stream for Celine. This will only happen with their continued marketing or by sending another song to radio (which seems unlikely). "An Audience With Celine..." is still weeks away so it'll be interesting to see how well the album sells between now and then.
Just to clarify though, number 5 in the UK this week is an outstanding achievement. Well done!!

In reality there were 14 albums released this week some by massive bands and artists here and to debut at No 5 is very good

So far it is shaping up to have similar chart positions as "Miracle" better this time in Japan and Ireland though

ALONE is a better single choice.
Should be singles:
Alone

I got nothin' left

i was expecting no. 3 or atleast no.4 even though competition was tough in the uk this week, and the single flopped...
still confident she will be no.1 in the uk in the next few weeks tho!!!
so sony pull ur socks up and get those adverts on tv and posters and billboards around the uk to coincide with ''an audience with celine'' (do something right

I'm saying that but I don't know the official numbers, that's true.
But it's better to say NOW she won't because some will be disappointed.
This week was a very bad week to release this album everywhere.

So far the album has charted higher (some countries not) than "Mariah Careys" last album which has now sold 10 million copies, so it is all very promising
