I really wonder how legit these are!  These could contain beautiful alternate mixes from Mme DION!

I don't know how legit these are, but I do know that this seller has tried to sell these before a couple of times but they haven't been able to.  Maybe that says something>  :hmm:

Well I just know one thing: if these unreleased songs and studio takes are ONLY available in these DAT tapes and nobody cared to do copies at that time, we can say goodbye to them if the winner is not a fan and doesn't intent to share it later...  :ermm:

What if this song is really recorded by Céline and its only there?

I asked the seller about a BIN price, and he says he added $250 but it was erased after the first bid... I think it's a price to consider, providing the tapes include what they claim to be in the labels. But what if its not Céline in that song? What if its another singer? :blink:  :hmm:

With the Would I Know auction the seller uploaded an audio clip to show there wasn't trick. I think this seller should do the same to prove what he's selling and considering the price he asks :hmm:

I agree, what (s)/he is selling could potentially make many of us wet our pants!  And why would there be 2 for "The Winner Takes It All"? Surely Celine wouldn't have two demos of the same song, and why wouldn't they just play her the ABBA version?

Yeah, We can tell the seller our problem and offer him a very nice price if he uploads a sample of the REAL Celine.

wow, how cool!! but be careful the seller says songs FOR/OF celine Dion, so there might be another singer singing this! AND there's no way for the seller to upload a file coz he/she hasn't got a dat player! at least he says so in the description. Also the TWTIA could be another song than the ABA one, which would be even more awesome!!!

I believe these are authentic. I've done some research on DATs, and they are not an easy tool to work with. The manufacturing of DATs was discontinued in 2005 by Sony, and during their life it seems that only big audio companies (e.g. recording studios) used them. The equipment used to record and read them is now costly and hard to find. I checked with my university, and our media center doesn't even have a DAT player (you need a DAT player, not a standard cassette player). Also, the life of a DAT is only 10-15 years before the data becomes corrupt.

So, I have no doubt that these tapes are real, but it's likely that one or more of them are ruined due to time and poor storage. For whomever does purchase them, they must quickly be sent to a company that has the technology to convert the tapes into mp3 format. Whether or not the buyer wants to share these mp3s with us, the tapes must be converted quickly, before the data is lost forever.

"Hi I am trying to get a dat player to verify. I can not refund if purchased."

very interesting indeed. The Winner Takes It All is one of the best pop songs ever written imo. To hear Celine sing this would be too much to cope with.
