Can you believe that it is now TWENTY years since "Think Twice" first charted in the UK?!

For the charts dated 22nd October 1994 Celine's 3rd single from "The Colour of My Love" entered the UK Singles Chart at the lowly number 53 position.  Not much was expected from this single which followed "The Power Of Love" (peaked at number 4) and "Misled" (peaked at number 40 on original release) but this one song was to forever change Celine's career in the UK.

To date this song holds the UK chart record for the song which has taken the longest amount of time to climb to number 1.  "Think Twice" was on the UK Singles Chart for an incredible 16 weeks before it hit the top spot in January 1995.

Its chart run in the UK is as follows:
53 - 42 - 52 - 30 - 28 - 22 - 20 - 9 - 8 - 5 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 3 - 4 - 12 - 17 - 22 - 34 - 51 - 67 - 70 - 92 - 109 - 125 - 116 - 146 - 193

The song has been certified platinum in the UK with confirmed sales of over 1.32 million.  It was also the 16th highest selling of the 90's in the UK.  

Alongside "My Heart Will Go On" the song remains the song that Celine is most known for in the UK and is one of her two million selling singles.  Celine is the only female artist in the UK to have two of her singles inside the top 10 biggest selling singles by a female artist ever.  The song also reached number 1 in Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

Celine of course famously cut short her honeymoon to come and promote "Think Twice" in the UK, a move which ultimately pushed the song to number 1.  This is the song that made Celine a household name in the UK and Celine still performs the song in her concerts to this day whenever she tours in the UK.

It feels so weird to see her with other guys in music videos .  She looks so beautiful in the Gala for Peace video, love her hair and makeup here.

Also, one of her best videos, ever. But here's something I never noticed before: Aren't Celine and Cute-Video-Guy cold hanging out in the ice palace in their sleeveless shirts?  And those ice sculptures appear to be in a barn on what looks like a hot summer day . . why didn't they melt?  Why did these questions never occur to me before?

Knotwilg Think Twice is already 20 years old, makes me feel vintage. I still can't believe. It just feels like yesterday. But hey Falling Into You is also already 18 years old.

I was listening to ANDHC yesterday and I was all like "12 years old??" I couldn't believe it. It's still one of my favorite Celine albums though

Celine's 20 year UK chart record was broken today.

Previously Celine's "Think Twice" held the record for the longest time it has taken a song to climb to number 1 in the UK. It took "Think Twice" 13 weeks to reach the top spot.

Today however Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" climbed to number 1 having been out for 19 weeks claiming Celine's record.

This is one of my faves from that era! Can't believe it didn't make a bigger splash here. But it just goes to show how much of a global artist she is that different songs can have so much success just depending on location.

I only discovered this song a few years ago (as I was towards the end of my divorce....how is that for irony??), most likely because it wasn't as well known here in the states. I can't believe it's already been 20 years for this single!!

It's just feel like yesterday...Jesus Christ... 20years...  Like most of u this is one of my favourite one and I'm still listening to it like is a new single...I'm hooked like the first day I heart that song..good memories..

OMG TT was my first Céline song.  I feel so old right now.  
Even though it didn't do well here in the US, they still aired her singing this song at the World Music Awards and that is what made me a fan.

Yep and for the next 7 weeks this is how the song would look on the UK Singles Chart: 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1

Think Twice joined the album at number 1.  The Colour Of My Love album had reached number 1 on the UK Album chart the week before and Celine would go on an unprecedented rule of the UK charts for the next 5 weeks in 1995 simultaneously topping both the UK Album and Singles chart at the same time.

This is where it all began for me.
I remember my mum telling me about a song she loved called Think Twice. I think I then saw the video (the one of Céline and a guitarist in a room - not the ice sculpture one) and told my mum - I know that song you were talking about, it's by a woman with a strange name like Selina and she's got curly hair.
A few weeks later I saw the song in a music shop and bought the cassette for my mum as a Christmas present. I hadn't really heard it that much so had no idea that I would be the one playing the cassette over and over (and over and over and over ad. infinitum) in the weeks that followed. I was obsessed. I remember the Top Of The Pops performance like it was yesterday, as well as the one on a peer in Florida I think, and I seem to remember Céline briefly introducing the show in the same red top.
Anyway, a month or two later (the March I think) my mum came home with a present for me... The Colour Of My Love. I think it was the first real album I owned and I haven't stopped listening to it since. People ask me all the time if I ever get bored listening to the same songs after all these years. And I honestly don't. Each time I listen to Céline it's like the first time. Especially with songs like Think Twice.

1994 is where all it started for me. I do have an earlier memory of seeing Céline perform.  She was singing Beauty and the Beast (and I was shocked Angela Lansbury wasn't singing it but "some lady with long black curly hair") ) but I didn't know who she was and was too young really to know how to find out. As such I like to think December 2014 was not only Céline and Rene's 20th anniversary but also mine and Céline's

Interesting! I never knew this about the head piece or her hair. Ouch!

This week, 20 years ago, it officially hit the number 1 postion! DAMN!!! 20 years ago I was only 10... well 11 in three weeks I was not a fan back then, but i do remember this song being played on the radio the whole time! When I got The Colour Of My Love, when the song came up, I remembered it and was floored! It has been one of my very favourites since then! I can't believe it's been sooooooo long!!
