It does not matter who tries to take Celine's place. The biggest tru around there is that Celine's irreplaceable.

I think Cher is the next best choice for the Colliseum.  I know her show is going to be spectacular, she would settle for nothing less!  I can't wait to see them both, but Cher will put on a showstopper no doubt.  If anyone can sell that place out like Celine it's her.  Bette on the other hand will have problems maintaining the numbers after the initial opening I think.

I also agree. Cher has always been able to pull off a fantastic show, and she proved that with her "farewell tour". New costumes & new choreography, add in the Colliseum's big screen and you have yourself one heck of a show. Not that it will ever beat AND...but (at least for me) it will come in at a close 2nd!

maybe its just me but i feel that all this hype for replacing celine with cher and bette is overshadowing celine

i mean in the cher interview they didn't not once mention celine and everyone is so excited about cher going to vegas

i feel like screaming HELLO!! celine did over 700 hundred shows!!!! and stayed there for 4 and a half years, can cher do that??

and about what soph said, which made me realize, that these 'replacements' are so old     celine started in vegas at the age of about 33 or 34...how many other artists at that age could've done vegas?  and there are artists around that age and i can't imagine them even being sucessful with 10 shows in a row   :giggle:

i think its funny how both Cher and Bette have publicly admired Céline in various interviews even before AND started, and now they're 'replacing' her, its kinda like ooooohhh shes really good maybe i could learn from her by doing what shes done! lol i do love them both and i think they will have fantastic shows, but when i saw that photo of bette on the piano i was kinda like hey, get the hell out of Céline's dressing room.'security, security'!!!

Bette presenting Céline an award

Cher talking about Céline towards the end

i know these have been posted before, but i thought it was fun to watch them again, there are better ones though in particular cher on oprah and bette midler being interviewd after the oscars where Céine sang twice, but i couldn't find those lo so enjoy!

Bit of a curiosity question this one but I wondered if anyone knows yet whether it will be Bette or Cher merchandise that takes over the unit at Caesers Palace that was occupied by the Celine Boutique. As we all know it was a prime position right by the entrance to the Colliseum (Elton's store is not quite so close). I was sad to see the pictures of the Celine Boutique all closed and empty which just made her leaving all the more final and just wondered which artist would now take it over......bearing in mind it takes TWO formidable ladies to fill our Celines shoes  !!!  :sofunny:

don't be so cruel to these 3 artists folks. i am pretty sure they are not planning to surpass what celine had achieved over the last 4 years. these 3 artists are a legend as well, and i love them, especially bette and cher. they are great artists. everyone saw how celine have grown as an overall performer at the colliseum and they also want to achieve at least half of what celine had achieved. we should be greatful to all of them because, they're just following celine's footsteps. i would love to see them there as well. i don't see a single reason to be mad at them. celine's status now as a performer is already tested there, she's a hot-selling concert artist (though her capability of selling more albums really suffered, but who cares? she sold a lot during her peak!).

they are the perfect choice to held a concert there next to celine. best of luck to them!

Thanks for the videos! I've never seen those before! Cher clearly has a lot of respect for Celine. I love it!

However, I feel Anastasia's comment about Celine not writing her own songs was most unnecessary. She says it's a testimony to her talent as an artist that she can sing other people's songs but I see this a thinly-veiled criticism. I also didn't like the way she talked about Celine in interviews for DIVAS Las Vegas. She doesn't say anything outrightly critical but there is a strong sense that she does not like Celine's style. Maybe Anastsia has a superiority complex. This is not the right thread for these thoughts, but I just wanted to get that off my chest.

What I want to say is that Cher is so graceful and respectful. I hope I get to see her in Vegas.
