Well this is my first submission to this section, so please be gentle.

It's me doing an acapella version of Nothing Broken Buy My Heart.

here are my observations:

- you would have great benefitted from having the track playing along with you
- in terms of pitch, you are way off; i would recommend either learning the song much more or simply singing along with the track
- your energy is fun and pleasant
- in terms of emotion and technique, i would say that you show absolutely none of those
- a good effort, but you need much more work

Note: i'm not trying to be rude, but you did ask for feedback (which cannot always be positive). I tried to be as neutral as possible.

Oh I don't find it rude, in fact I use it to help me on what to work on.  Now if you came out and said "YOU SUCK" that wouldn't have been helpful.   Thanks for the feedback!

I tried downloading the instrumental to try again, but it didn't work.   I'm a little worried about doing it with her background cause she sings in an F key which is higher than I normally sing in.  I'll give it another shot in the near future.

Back to PopMusicBoy, I think you have a good voice but you should try with some music also to cover the mistakes in your interpretation because you have some.

All in all, I'd say you have potential. Use it wise my boy

now i feel badly for what i said previously, but honestly agree: people should not post kind words just for the sake of being kind; we all have to be realistic towards people here, so why mislead them?

i think that he does have a great tone (it's pleasant, your voice), but that his rendition of it is ENTIRELY off key, and he would therefore benefit from singing along with the actual track...

i did not mean to offend anyone and if i have, i do apologize...

thanks for sharing... now  that's what i call CONSTRUCTIVE...

i encourage you to try recording yourself, all the while singing ALONG with this karaoke track; you'll see: it will work out better for you...

could anyone tell me how to record MYSELF singing along with a karaoke track? i have no speakers, but i do have a mic, not to mention headphones, but yah, i'd like to give this a try (sining here at CELINE IDOL)...

It should be a bit difficult without the headphones; first of all, you can use a multi-track recording program (on one track you insert the karaoke/instrumental mp3 and on the other you record your voice).
Such programs are Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition (there is also a more simple one called Acoustica - I will try to give you some links to download the programs these days, but basically they're on EMule).

To get a clearer sound, you should have a semi-professional audio card and a pretty good microphone. Headphones are important for control: you have to hear yourself while singing. After you are done recording, you can try adding a few simple effects to your voice * reverb or delay for example.

P.S. I have been reading your replies here in the Forum Idol section and it seems to me you know quite many things about music & singing technique. My question is: are you a singer or involved in music in any way?...

Thanks for the comments everyone!   I am gonna try re-recording it with the instrumental.  I do have a program where I can mix vocal and track (I actually just figured it out like a week ago )  Hopefully you'll like the finished product.
