how can i put a picture in my Signature??

This is how I did it, but im sure there is actually a thread on how to do this somewhere on this forum...

Upload it to something like www.photobucket.com, you will have to make a username if you dont already have one, then once tou have uploaded, double click the URL underneith it, which says CODE and then go back to your controls, as if you where trying to add a signature, and click the "Insert Image" button, just above where you type, then a box will come up, and paste your URL from photobucket into there.

 

I really hope this helps, if not - I did try my best haha.

First I thought about opening a new topic but than I found that my question would fit here too.

 

So my question is: how comes that a member who has even less than 100 posts sent has a "Channel Addict" status?????

 

Not that it bothers me but I just went really curious!...

I always thought you need to post 2000 (or even 5000) messages to get this status, right?

We may make certain exceptions in some cases. The requirement is 2,000 posts, it used to be 1,000.

I have a question about editing my posts. I have seen posts that have some sort of statement saying post was edited by poster. Is there a way to edit my own previous posts? I'm sorry if this is stupid question. I just wondered.

Every member can edit their own posts. You have 15 minutes after you write the message to edit, other groups (channel addict, donator, moderators) have a longer time.

More question about editing. I dont understand about the 15minute thing. An ordinary member has 15minute to edit, does it mean that after I post a post, the clock then start and after 15minute after the posting I can't edit it anymore ???? OR does it mean that I can only edit my post AFTER 15minute/more passed??? Im sorry if it sounds stupid but I dont really understand the 15minute rule coz it's rather ambiguous (since other forums I've been never have such 15minute rule )

After you write a message, the 15 minute period starts and you won't be able to edit the message anymore after that time limit.

Thanks for the explanation. But if I may ask again... is there any special reason why 15-minute after posting, members can't edit their posts ? What if after a few days, I want to add something to my post (but noone replies to my post yet)? That means I have to double post...

 

Is 'double post' allowed? Of course double post here doesn't mean posting the exact same message twice. But it's more like 1 member posts his/her different post twice (or more) in a row in the same thread. In a Japanese manga forum I joined, double post is a big sin But in a Russian gay forum, it's allowed as logn as it's not spam. So I just want to know about Celine Dion forum's view on double post.

It's to prevent members from editing their posts anytime. The other groups get more time to edit their posts. Double posts are allowed as long as it's not spam or if the 15 minutes is up and they want to edit but unable to. It's not such a big deal on this forum, we don't really care unless a member does it excessively.

I dont understand about not being allowed to edit anytime for ordinary member. Why can't a member edit his/her post anytime? I mean, why? Is it because of the default PHP/Javascript/etc script from this forum? Just kinda curious

 

I think I saw something about paying subscription option in my control panel. What is that?

All member groups cannot edit their posts anytime, once the time period is up the message cannot be edited. Well, if we were to allow that then all posts on this forum won't be "permament". It's difficult to explain but you can imagine why this is so.

 

I hope to see you active in other parts of this forum as well.

Is it 'sinful' in Celine Dion Forum to reply to a dead thread ??? The reply btw is meaningful reply (meaning, it's not one-liner post or short thank-u post) Coz in a Japan manga forum and The Corrs forum, I'm being 'scolded' for resurrecting 'dead' threads. In the latter forum, 2-month old thread is considered dead already.

 

I always try to post meaningful posts to avoid the idea that Im spamming. Sometimes I do come across 'dead' threads which I like and I wish to resurrect them. Although my posts are meaningful, some admins just can't accept that ><

 

So I just want to know if Celine Dion Forum also forbids replying dead threads or not. Better knowing it now rather than being warned...

Reply with meaningful posts is fine. But if you bump loads of old topics in a short time. It would annoy others, cause it would be harder to find the new ones.

You've said (and I, of course, noticed that myself) that other groups have more time. But is it also a particular period of time or does it vary from group to group? If it's specified, I'd like to know exactely how long does this period for editing is?

It varies from group to group.

 

Donators = 1 hour

Channel Addicts = 30 minutes

Contributors = 30 minutes
