For anyone interested, there is a masterclass on Seth Riggs' website where he talks about singing, takes someone through some exercises, and knocks down a lot of the barriers many vocalists find themselves up against, and talks about the hazards of the "old fashioned way" that today's teachers still use...which can be harmful. He teaches speech-level singing, which allows singing without any strain and opens up a singer's potential (and many of the exercises are what Celine Dion does). He's known around the world as one of the best vocal teachers in the biz (and has worked with countless famous performers), so if you're interested in singing, improving your singing, or just learning about it in a way that you perhaps never have, this is a pretty good video. Fair warning...it is 3 hours long!
I believe it requires Quicktime. http://www.sethriggs.com/video-seth.html There is also a user on Youtube that has lots of exercises so you can actually do this stuff. It really helps to get rid of tension, increase resonance and range, and makes singing such much easier. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ljjczvgm1cw This post has been edited by lamourpourCeline: Apr 26 2008, 12:01 PM |

Get Bette Midler tickets to see her in Vegas, or Cher seats when her rotation at Caesars Palace comes up. Also purchase Michael Buble tickets to see the modern day crooner live.
